My Childhood Crush

Big Brown eyes, cute rosy lips,
Soft hands, and pink hair clips,

Swiftly she came, besides me she sat,
On first day of school, my heart went flat.

Her sweet innocence made me blush,
She was my first love, my childhood crush.
Thoughts of her, homework never done,
Scolding of teachers, also felt like fun,

Planned accidents, fractures and all,
Tried all attempts to make her fall,

Her faked ignorance made me blush,
She was my first love, my childhood crush.

Came the farewell, then college proceedings,
Never had that courage to tell her my feelings,

Days went by and her closeness kept fading,
Rare occasional calls or few lines of chatting,

Still her inherent presence made me blush,
She was my first love, my childhood crush.
Suddenly one day, her brother called me,
Saw a frightening sight, I wished never to see,

Pale and ill, she was on death bed,
“I love you”, softly she said,

Her unending absence makes my tears rush,
She was my first love, my childhood crush.
